I have another question for you 911 wrench,s out there. I have the engine out of my 83sc to change all the lower cylinder studs to steel and so far my engine has the airbox mod and the tensioner update done. Is there anything else that needs attention while I have it torn down this far?
Thanking you guys in advance for you input. George in Ct. |

I just did the same as I had 2 broken head studs on my 82 SC. While I was replacing studs I did rings and sent the heads to be checked out. The heads were good but it was recommended to do guides and springs so I did. I replaces all seals and gaskets and other easy access parts with the engine on a stand like sensors and hoses. I'm happy to report after 3K miles all is well with no leaks and oil usage on the super low side, rings did good with Alusil. I did do the AN320 paste with felt pad hone. For reference I had 101K on the clock. Good luck!
