Suspension refresh done, aligned and corner balanced....what a difference!
Went from a stock and worn '70 suspension to the following:
22/28 tbars Neatrix rear bushings Elephant front rubber bushings New front sway bushings (rubber) New bilsteins all around (sport) SC spring plates (for ride height/corner balance) Ball joints tie rod ends After some strut issues finally got the car back on the ground Thursday and had it aligned and corner balanced yesterday ($340 at At Speed Motorsports near BWI). What a change! Might be a touch bouncy on certain bumps but cornering is pretty darned impressive. The alignment is more agressive than stock and i love it. very responsive but not constantly making steering corrections due to wandering. Low ride height, decent negative camber and all is well. Pleasant surprise was weight came in at 2360lbs. Lots of time, money, stress and tired muscles (suspension work is tough!) but squirting into an open slot in traffic in 2nd and 3rd gear blasting through 4k rpm with that sport muffler reflecting off the dividing wall on the way home.....well it was all worth it.

Is the 2360#s loaded with your weight and fuel, and coupe or targa?

Congratulations!
I'm just a few weeks behind you in upgrading my suspension. Great to hear stories of it "all paying off" - need that along the way to help push though the times when you think you are never going to have enough free time to finish it all out.

You got a deal on the alignment and CB.
Mine was $125 for the alignment and 7hrs of labor to get it through the CB so the stock non- adjustable sway bars would line up w/o adding preload with me in the car. Another benefit is much less premature brake lock up at one of the front wheels. Things that make suspension set up easer. Adjustable rear spring plates as noted but the aftermarket ones can be adjusted w a load on the suspension. ER bushings as they take the here to day, gone tomorrow rubber bushings twisting spring rate out of the equation. Adjustable link sway bars make it easer to set up with out having to reset the ride height on one side so we do not introduce pre-load into the suspension when the sways are reattached. ![]() |

my tech knew his ****. i think it was his first align/cb on an early car but once i pointed him to the height adjustment bolts front/rear he was good to go. very nice guy has spent at least a few years on pro race teams and can pretty much do it all from alignments to rebuilds on race motors.
i'm pretty thrilled to have found a shop that i can take my car to once in a while for a general checkup and some odds and ends i don't feel comfortable doing myself. i really like having people who actually use their work product vs. a random guy who doesn't have the race experience and does whatever the book says.

what do you have the camber & caster settings at?
I have a similar setup and had a street alignment done. Now that I'm into AutoX, I will be adjusting it for better track work.
