Do you know who manufactured the bodywork you are running?
I have the same quarters and rockers in my attic and I was told they came from Alex Job. I don't have the matching front fenders and bumper but I think the other GT2 stuff I have will look good with it. I've got a tub I'll probably put together in a year or so, to help me clear some parts out of the garage! |

Carl,
Did you notch the torsion bar tube when you moved the trans mount forward 1.4"? It looks like you did, to get the trans case right up against the torsion bar tube. ![]()

Cory,
I don't know who produced the body kit?? There is no branding or markings of any sorts. It's not GT, not MA, not Getty, this much I know. It might be from PatrickMotorsport from my vague research. I didnt know Alex Job had a GT2 kit available... I'd love to look in to it with you and find out who makes these parts. They are real race glass, uber light and of very high quality. Doors are carbon and I believe the carbon banana wing is from Crawford but I could be mistaking. Kevin, Yes I did notch the torsion tube to get the tranny forward some. I boxed it in with some 1/8 plate afterwards. At this point I am forced to run with the short wheelbase adjustement on the spring plates because of header clearence with the right rear shock. I am tempted to get some different pipes and gain the extra 1/2 - 3/4 '' longer but I think I'll hold off as I will get some turbo headers on there over the winter. At that point I'll be at the maximum axel misalignment I think they'll take. But for know no issues and also no issues with the spool, 915 and 7/31 rp. Naysayers!! ![]() But my rears do degear this thing quite a bit...

That's what I figured Carl, as I can see a few slits where you cross-cut out the torsion tube metal. Was it just the sheetmetal covering you notched out, or did you get into the heavy tubing of the t-bar housing itself?
I may just go 1 in. on my forward shift to avoid diddling with hacking (me the hack, not you) up the t-bar housing. Some cutting and shifting of the trans mount 1", and and 1" thick piece of 6061 Al from McMaster for spacing the engine crossbar should do the trick. Then all I have to do is shorten the throttle rod, shorten shifter tube (or not at all if I get a Fabcar or Hargett shifter) and adjust the clutch cable? I can't think of anything else that would pose a significant alteration problem. Yeah might as well wait on the exhaust. Most of the readily available N/A headers all seem to have the same pipe routing anyway. Well except the RarlyL8, S Car Go, Cox, etc. big dollar ones. No reason to dump $$$$ if you're going to change them out for turbo in the near future. Be sure to treat that trans right! I say get a cooler on it to keep it as happy as possible. I gots that on my wish list..... Although I only have a 3.2L so i'm not super concerned right now. Still, any cooling is a plus. Especially with a tight LSD I understand the gear oil gets quite hot in a hurry.
