914/6 conversion--tach question
.....posted in the 914 forum as well.
I am in the process of doing a 2.7RS conversion for my '75 914. I am closing in on finishing my rebuild, and am looking forward to the installation. I will need to replace my -4 tach with a -6 tach. I have located one from a '74 911. That's the correct tach for my conversion, right? Thanks all! ![]() |

When I did mine, I had to use a tach from an SC because I was using an electronic ignition system. Nice color on the car, by the way. . .

Yes, the tach needs to match the ignition. Like a 1984-89 tach must be used if you are using the stock Motronic system from the 3.2 engine.
