Question Re-installing spring plates - Initial position for toe & camber eccentric bolts

Hey guys,

I'm re-installing my spring plates after upgrading my rear components (new torsion bars, poly-bronze bushings, Tarret rear sways and monoballs).

I plan to bring the car in for a 4 wheel alignment & corner balance when I'm done.

I centered the height adjustment eccentric bolt and locked it in place.

Wondering if there is any particular setting (center?) that I should shoot for with the toe and camber eccentric bolts to make it a little easier on the shop that will be doing my corner balance & alignment.

Should I just install them in any position and let the shop figure it out?

Thanks, Gordo

How familiar is your shop with the 911 rear camber/toe adjustments? If they've done it before, it probably won't make any difference in where you leave the adjustment bolts. If it's new to them, make sure they're aware that for some adjustments of the camber bolt, it can make a difference as to where the toe bolt is positioned. I wish I could remember all the notes I made while doing this, but I'd have to look it up. In some cases, dependent on where you are trying to set the camber, that the position of the toe bolt has to go 180 Deg from where it is to allow the camber full range. (0r is it reversed with camber, then toe?)

I can look this up if it's not making sense, wish I had better recall. I think the shop manual alludes to this, but it wasn't clear to me until I did it myself.

Alignment

Jim,

Thanks for pulling this up, appreciate the gouge.

I've installed the camber and toe eccentrics in semi-random positions (tried to at least match side to side for what that's worth.

The shop/person I will be bringing it to is very familiar with 911 alignments - pretty busy so I didn't want to call with a question I knew someone would have the answer for here.

Thanks, Gordo
