Porsche Crest It occurs to me...

I've never formally introduced myself... despite chiming in on a few topics.

So, I'm Chris. I bought my Porsche about a year and a half ago, found this forum while doing research, and since then I've been generally working to fix the few neglected items and enjoy SoCal while I still can.

I'm in the military and will be moving soon to Dayton Ohio. If anybody can recommend a good mechanic out there, that would be great. (I'll repost the question again once I get out there).

So, about the car. She's a 1975 Carrera Targa. Currently Red (not Guards, color is actually a Ferrari according to the PO who had it painted). PPI found one small rust spot that I've already taken care of. The tail is the early Carrera variety, with the down-sloped engine vent. Wheels are 16" Fuchs (not the OEs).

Engine is a 1979 SC motor. History has some holes, but the major reliability mods are in place. She leaks a little... about a quarter-sized spot when parked.

Now, on to the most important part of the intro... here are the pics:

So, its good to be here, and I look forward to future conversations.

Looks very nice! Forgive my ignorance, but are those wheels supposed to look like that? They look like they don't quite match.

I don't have any good interior pics, its on my to do list. PO replaced all the leather, but the carpets, dash, and door pockets need to be redone. Nothing bad, just not up to the quality of the exterior.

As for the wheels, they are 16x6/7. Most people have 7/8s. The 7/8 in real Fuchs (vice cast replicas) were really expensive and I can't run larger tires w/o rolling my front fenders... anyway, that's why the fronts look a bit bulged out in the second photo, they have about 1/2" less barrel. They do look "right" in person and I wanted real Fuchs (no disrespect to those w/ replicas).
