904 Owner's Manual
I need help identifying what I believe to be an owner's manual for the 904 Carrera. It is dated 12/63 and printed in Germany. I'd welcome comments and a referral to someone knowledgeable on Porsche literature.
Thanks, Rob ![]() ![]()

Rob,
Yes, that is the correct "Driver's Manual" for the 1964 Type 904 Carrera GTS. I had one each for my two 904s; 904-017 (ex Don Wester) and 904-055 (ex Ben Pon). The one for -017 was signed to me by Dr. Ferry Porsche and Dr. Ernst Fuhrmann in about '76. Original manuals are very valuable. There are also several Factory parts manuals and supplimentary additions and the Carrera (engine) Guide for these cars. There are sales literature and race posters also. IMHO the 904 is the most beautiful Porsche ever. Here is my 904-017 in the High Rockies (Denver Colorado Genesee Park) in the mid-‘80s. Photo by Pelican fbarrett in the mid-‘80s. Best, Grady

Rob:
Yep, that's what you've got. I sold one years ago but can't recall the price. The best place to find or sell such material is at the annual Los Angeles VW & Porsche Literature Swap Meet, held every March at the LAX Hilton. Grady, thanks for the photo credit, but I think our old friend Ted Shaw shot that photo. I do recall riding in the car, though. While we were stopped at a traffic light, a guy asked, "Is that a real one?" We told him, "Nah, just one of those kit cars." Frank |

+1 from someone who at least got to ride in one back in the day!

Grady, and you sold it??
Shouldn't comment, I sold my Aston Martin DB4 almost two years ago.
