How do you replace the front bumper rubber?

I've got an '88 911 Carerra. The front bumper's rubber piece (it sits on top of the bumper) is warped and needs replacing. I was told I need to take the entire front bumper off to replace this little piece of rubber. OK, fine. Anyone have and instructions on how to do this?

First take the front impact strip off the front of the bumper, there you will find the nuts that attach to the bumper absorbers that will let you remove the front bumper. Of course before you do that, you need to remove the accordian fillers on the side/and or extentions. Take out the lenses and wiring and voila... off comes the front bumper. If you have headlamp washers, you'll be there a while.

Once the bumper is off, there are two screws at the base of each fender that attach the bumper "smile" to the car, the rest are under the hood at the front apron; gotta have a good stretch in your legs for those, and that's about it.

Good Luck
