Speedometer compatibility question.....

Hello,

Does anybody know if a speedometer from a 68-69 (901 741 02 03) is compatible with my 2.2 T from '71 with a 901 5 speed gearbox? I just found out today that while driving my car (Haven't driven it before due to restoration) that the speedometer is not exceeding 50 KPH.

I took out the speedo tonight and when running it on a drill it does exceed the 50 KPH. Are the internals different from the original 911 641 501 00 speedo? Or is there a difference in the gearbox drive gear?
