alternator wiring issue

1977 911s cis alternator lost my diagram. there are three wires they look to be a brownish color/orange the connector they are connected to does not fit on the b+ stud on the alternator so just curious if anyone knows if they go to the +61 stud any info is appreciated thanks. Also the ground strap to case, does it bolt to the fan housing?

Assuming that the '77 alternator is basically the same as an SC's, the power wires (usually a heavy pair of reds) bolts to the + post (left side looking at the rear of the alternator). The ground wires (should be brown) bolt to the - post (right side), and the other end of the wire that grounds to the case bolts to one of the throughbolts at the top seam of the case halves, not the fan housing, though I suppose that would work too. The remaining wire (should be a small green) bolts to the small post near the bottom of the alternator.

Now that I re-read your post, the brown wires DEFINITELY do not bolt to the + post, which is exactly why they don't fit. You'll fry everything if you do that.

The B+ is the large red, 10mm nut
The ground strap can attach to the fan housing or to the terminal
+61 is small red wire
Black is the snap on field (not used when you update to Verlo or Paris Rhone)
