Netscape Users/Gallery

The Gallery is now fully functional for Netscape 4.x users. I'm still resolving a cosmetic issue on the front page, but it works just fine now, folks.

Get some pics in there! What's there right now is great - but those of you who have registered should get some pics posted! We want to check out your awesome rides.

Thanks to the guys who gave me some feedback on how the site was looking in Netscape. Jack Olsen, you may now return to your regularly scheduled Netscape browsing.

Looks great!

One odd thing: it seems to scale the type size relative to the size of the window I'm using in Netscape. In other words, if I size the window to fill the screen, then the type is so small that it's illegible. If I make the window smaller, oddly, the type gets bigger. Of course, I'm using Netscape 4.0.X, so I probably have myself to blame.

I'd also still love to see a "sort by most recently modified" feature. There are so many listings on the board that trying to find what's new can mean a lot of time clicking through one profile after another.

Still, awesome job. I look forward to throwing my copy of Internet Explorer in the trash, before long.

Looking good, Mark. Thanks for taking the time to tweak the site for us Netscapers.

And I still would like to see "sort by sign-up date". Or is it a case of (as our database administrator once said to me) "that information is not retrievable"?

I have no idea what's going on with the font thing, Jack. That doesn't happen in Netscape 4.7 on a PC. It has to be either a Mac-related or 4.0.x related thing. I'll get a copy of 4.0.x and see what's up. Wish I had a Mac laying around, I could fix this once and for all.

I like the idea of sorting by most recently modified! Sorting by date registered would be pretty easy too....I assign a new user ID in the database every time someone registers, so it would be easy to sort them by that number. The only problem: There's no date associated with that, although I can add it.

You guys are great beta testers. I wish I could just churn out a site, and have it be perfect when it opens, but I'm a little new to the cosmetic end of web development - I'm more the database guy (does it show?). Thanks for your help, folks.

Great job, Mark! The gallery finally works in school with Netscape 4.7! Kinda off the topic, but Rarly, your car is upside down.

Sorry guys - I havn't been back to photopoint to re-align the hemispheres yet. The picture is right-side-up at photopoint, but upside-down on the disc.
