Speedometer Accuracy Question

Does anyone know whether the accuracy of the speedometer affects the accuracy of the odometer? In other words, if the speedometer reads 10% fast, does that mean the odometer will read 10% too many miles? I've read threads about speedometer accuracy here before, and I'm not too concerned about it UNLESS it affects my mileage.

Need some help on this one but I would think that the odometer and speedometer are part of the same sending unit. But that is a good Question!

Yes, the odometer is affected. My speedo is 10% fast and during my last rally I found my odometer to also be 10% fast (up to a 1/10 of a mile accuracy!)
