Funny, I think we are after the same thing, 7s for the rear. From what I found out from 82-85 the 944's used 7's on the front as an optional wheel, (8's on the back) I don't know if the offsets are the same, or if they will fit in the back without flares, which is what I hope. Hopefully someone will know the answer for us.

930
Carrera 3.0

all of the 7" Fuchs have ET23.3 and fit on the back of a 911. If you have a stock non flared '77 you will want to clearance the lips, run more negative camber and watch the tires but it can be done reasonably easily.

Thanks Bill,
Not to hijack his post, but do you know the max tire size that you can run? and also when you say clearance the lips are you talking about rolling them, or something else like cutting?

It depends on the idiosyncrasies of the car. I like to shave the lips off(they can be ground off(watch for heat build up) or cut w/ a saw), they can also be pulled out a tad, 225/50x15 works for most cars because the tires are so short, the taller the tire the narrower it needs to be. When I ran 215/60 on the 7s I burned the paint a couple of inches up from the lip.
