Like Manna from Heaven!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the fine people who responded to my posts, answered my questions, and generally held my hand during the past few weeks of my 911 search.

The search is over!

Like Manna from Heaven a sweet little thing has dropped into my life! '81 SC. Silver, The Color of the Gods, within a fraction of everything I was looking for... and at a price that was almost painless and it needs precious little to set her "right."

I thought the 944 was nice when I found her lo, those many years ago. But driving the 911 home last night was so sublime.

Some of you guys probably saved me from at least one, maybe two, mistakes!

Peace to you all.

Like Manna From Heaven

Well, here she is. Needing a wash job from the rain that came before I drove her home Thursday night.
Gives me something to look forward to on my next off day!

Been thinking about it... but I may never stop "looking for a 911." I mean, how many is too many?

Wow, that is in amazing condition, congratulations! Hopefully many more pics and stories to come! Looking at that photo, I can't find a single part of the car that doesn't look like it just came out of the factory...

Thank God it hasn't been lowered or otherwise molested! I wonder how long it stays that way?

Please send us the fender lip height measurements before you do anything to it, so we can have a baseline for how they left the factory, in case we long for that classic look again. From the photo, it appears that the gas tank is low...right?

Cheers,

Joe

Joe,

Yes, it hasn't been molested.... I don't quite know what to say about the comment, "I wonder how long it stays that way." I realize that the written word doesn't always translate with the nuances of the spoken word, so I hope it is with "tongue in cheek" you make that remark as I have no plans on lowering, molesting or otherwise friggin' around with what the engineers that designed and built the car did best. I'm a big fan of stock! That's one reason I didn't go with the '83 I had been looking at in Florida... just too many "upgrades."

As for the gas, the tank was just below 3/4. I was stooped over looking upward a bit when I shot the pic.

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, please forgive my sarcasm or "tongue in cheek" comment. I am only too gratified to hear that you have no plans in changing what the factory engineers had envisioned.

Love that classic factory look! As you can imagine, I too am one of the biggest fans of stock.

In fact, I wish there were whole section devoted to stock, unmolested and as they came from the factory 911s on this board.

Cheers,

Joe

What a beautiful car!

This is coming from a novice so take that into consideration, but...

Is the rear wheel setup stock? Looks a little outboard to my eye, but it could be the angle..

Also are those fog lamp housings stock? They look GREAT but not what I am familiar with.

Those Fuchs are just spectacular!

Might this coupe be a Zinmetallic? I don't remember if it was offered in the US in '81...
