No experience with Einmalig, but when I was employed at ANDIAL in the late 80's - early 90's ALL of our cars were sent to Quality Craft in Huntington Beach. They are off of Talbert between Beach & Gothard.
Rob Lesser was the owner's name, don't know if he still owns them or not. Their work at the time was top notch, they were the ones who painted the still-born Carrera 2 Cup Cars. You might want to call ANDIAL at 714.957.3900 and ask if they are still using Quality Craft or someone else. Dieter at ANDIAL is pretty picky and is not afraid to voice his opinion if he gets back shoddy work. Good luck! Ralph |

I did that already, unfortunetly Quality Craft said they had a 3 week wait before they coould even start any work on my car, in retrospect I regret not taking it to Quality Craft to begin with since Autbahn is dragin their feet (over a week and no work done yet), not to mention they arnt really helping me "the victim" with the quote for the insurance. The quote on the main part is $1,500 over what a walk in customer can get if for from the Porsche dealership, so I think he is padding the estimate alot and not being very flexible as far as the little extra thing I wanted done under the quote. He did say he would detail the car out when it was done though "jeez thanks" after an $8,750 repair on a quarter panel.
So this is why I am looking in to other alternatives before it's too late.

My Dad hired Einmalig to fix some ugly work that MotorMeister did to his engine a few years back.
They did great work on the engine and the owner is a stand-up guy. Sorry -- no experience with them for bodywork.

Typically body shops pad it up to give some room when the adjuster complains about the labor and material times that the shop is quoting.
On the other "extra" - most shops I've dealt with will not engage in that practice - if caught it's fraud and they rely on referrals from adjusters for business from the less picky clients. The referral thing is a big money maker for body shops and never will they risk an established relationship with an insurance company.

Don't know about bodywork. When I first bought my P car I bought some parts off them. (This was before I had even found Pelican). I found Brian Farmer a straight up guy. I was travelling on business so his guys packed up all my parts for the plane ride home. I did spend alot of time walking around the shop. They have a heck of a lot of used parts as well as new. Then I found Pelican and have bought all my parts from our host. I haven't found anywhere offering as good value as Wayne. However I found nothing wrong with Brian.

I apreciate all the advise and opinions guys, however for the record I do want to say that I was not trying to sway the guy to do anything fradulent, all I was asking for as far as "extra" was for him to take out a few little dings on the doors, probably would take the body shop less then 1-2 hours to fix. I think any customer handing him $8,700 would expect it to be OK to ask for a little extra. If you guys think I am wrong for asking for a little more labor at NO CHARGE to the insurance company. Please explain why? I might just take my business elsewhere, after all I do have choices. With that being said, let's not forget the fact that the exact same part number was over $1,400 higher then if I walked in to the Porsche dealership and picked it up.
All I am asking for is for it to look as it did before

I've been over to Einmalig a couple times and I didn't see anything that looked like a shop. All I saw was auto recycling. I talked to them at Dunkles this year and they said something about doing service (which I didn't really listen to) but my impression was that it was something fairly new and definitely a secondary business.
For a serious opinion about high end bodywork I would call Jeff at Classy Cars in Huntington Beach. If you want it perfect I would also have him color sand it for you. He is probably the most anal guy around about finish and paint care. If you want more middle of the road then I would talk to Scott's Independent or Andial and see who they recommend. Wayne

why not go to a porsche main agent then?
sounds odd that theyre sitting on it though - 'cause as already mentioned they rely on the ins work - its their bread and butter.

Dickster, many dealers don't have a body shop. The first two that come to my mind don't. This is CA. |

Hard to tell in your pics, but is it just limited to the fender? $8,700 seems like alot of money to repair that fender.

I guess the quote was worst case scenario with having to replace the whole rear panel $$$$

Still isn't clear what happened. Was the truck involved? I mean you're not even in the intersection, what'd he do roll out of a driveway?

Man, that's some depressing pics..
Considering that around here $8700 + a few more dollars will get your entire 911 disassembled, stripped and repainted the pricing (all those hours!!) you have is wacko. Looks like someone wants to get paid. But hey, I ain't a body guy -what do I know? If the adjuster buys of on that, well then....If they're high might as well get yours in too. Not like they care about what the adjuster thinks. Beat 'em to death! This was $1800 at a good shop in town - (dented door, and no blending) Either way, hope it turns out good... rjp
