Three point rear seat belts installed

Finished up last night installing 993 rear seat belts into the carrera. Just removed the seats and the deck. The upper mounting point was there. Installed the seat belts. Still have to reinstall the speakers but I will get to that later today.
Took the family out to breakfast this morning and then a trip to the Farmers Market.

Here are some pictures. One of these winters I need to tackle the headliner!

Me smiling

I just sent you an email for some pics so that was great timing.

You look soooooooooo serious driving, though. Must be the shades, huh?

Talk to you later.

The belts came from ebay. The bolts I got from Midstate Bolt:

http://www.midstatesbolt.com/

The babyseat is the cosco touriva. Big Lots had them and I ran down and got a couple. The toddler seat is the one I use in my slk. It is the mercedes babysmart seat by Britax. It just happened to fit so no need to get another toddler seat until my next summer for my youngest.

Wayne,

You know me. I take my driving seriously

I should have taken more pictures during the install, but I did not. By the time the camera came outside, it was for our morning excursion. The rest of the pictures are the boys in the seats together.

Hi ChemMan,

We also have concerns with the children sitting in the back only secured by the 2 point belts.

Can you describe where the upper mounting point is located exactly? Any pics (after installation)?

Could be different because mine is a 83SC...

Take a look at the link below:

not another kids seat in the carrera post

Once you remove the deck, you should have no problem locating the upper mounting point.

Hey ChemMan, thanks for the directions on the install, looks great. I have an '83 930 I'm planning on doing this over the weekend, so in step number 3 in your instructions, if I'm reading this right, I have to cut some of the sheet metal away to access the mounting holes for the rear reel? Any input/advice is greatly appreciated before I start hacking up the car. . .

Those directions are someone elses. Just remove your rear deck and you will see the upper mounting points. I did not need to removed any sheet metal. Hopefully you will not have to either.

Good Luck
