Ok...we're good to go...for Saturday am.
Nederland RTD...get there early...as we leave at 7:00 am. Looks like a decent turnout. I'll call the restaurant as we leave Ned and head north so they save tables for us. Bring your detectors... and cameras
Not necessarily in that orderSpeedo |

I'll be driving from Boulder to Ned tomorrow, heading up the canyon at 6:15. Hope to see some other P cars on the drive up. Probably will do a bit of with the crew on 119 before peeling off and heading back down to B-town. I've got a very busy weekend with a long "to do" list, so can't make a day of it (and the car is somewhat suspect for longer drives, although one day I'll just have to bite the bullet and go for it!).

I just wanted to thank everyone this morning for letting me tag along for a bit. It was really, really tough to take that right hand turn at Ward off of 119 and head back down to the Front Range (especially because I knew that in an hour, I'd be at Home Depot looking at tile for a bathroom remodel, blech!).
I know you guys are still out there right now, so I hope the rest of the day was just as great for everyone else as the first few miles were for me. The solo blast down Left Hand Canyon was awesome, as were the sweepers on 119 outside of Nederland with 6 or 7 sweet P cars in front of me. Wonderful visuals and good fun! I hope to do this again soon and I look forward to all the pics. Thanks to Speedo (Lars) for getting it all together. --- Tom '75 targa |

Good times...glad I had a chance to meet everyone. If everything goes according to plan this winter (when does it ever?), I'll have my '72 along for the next drive. Here are a few pictures from the morning...

Lars' Colorado Loop
What a fantastic day. Thank you to Lars and Beth for making it happen for son James and myself. Great weather, views, food, and company! I'm looking forward to the next trip. Fall colors anyone?
Cheers, Andy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My report....
I'm not the official camera guy...but I took a few. Some of these are more of a documentary, and some are just to capture the magnitude of where we are lucky to live...
Night before...pre-tech ![]() ![]() Early start ![]() I tried various ways to get pictures of the line of P cars...this is a test... ![]() Two 1966 cars that started life as 912s...one stayed in the hometown, and one went out into the world ![]() ![]() Second attempt at "backwards photography ![]() ![]() Coming in to Estes Park ![]()

Up to the divide
The red 912 pealed off after breakfast, and the rest of us headed up...traffic was not bad. The Boxster that led the way up didn't care, he would pass anybody anywhere. I decided that the best way to take pictures behind me was to just hold the camera out the window facing backwards and shoot
![]() I also wanted to get a good picture of my rain gutter ![]() ![]() This road is amazing ![]() ![]() The closer you get to 12,500 ft, the lack of guard rails adds to the excitement of taking pictures while driving ![]() ![]() Top of the world ![]()

BTW, for those in the flatlands, those 6' extensions on the guard posts in the pic above "Top of the World" and a couple below it, are for the snowplow driver; so he can see where the road is when the snow is nine feet deep.
It gets a lot deeper, but the road is closed all winter. |

Here are a few more! Notice in the second pic that Lars is sticking his camera out the window, taking a picture of me at the same time. I think his picture of me is the first one above in post #30!
