Black plastic grill - which years?
I'm thinking about '74 to about the end of the SC's but can anyone confirm?
This is the black plastic honeycomb grill. Cheers

If you're talking about the engine lid grill, my '86 has a plastic one.

According to PET the part number changed in 1978. In '77 the part number was 911 559 041 04. In '78 it changed to 911 559 411 00 and stayed the same part number thru 1989 (not including the '89 964 Carrera 4)

PET shows the 911 559 041 04 part number beginning in 1974. Maybe it was a mid-year change, as the stock of old parts got used up. JR |

Plastic ones started in the '75 MY. Keep in mind that there may have been early production cars with metal ones as they used up inventory.

That's correct. I should have said '74 thru '77 have the same number (unknown if this is plastic) and in '78 it changed to the 911 559 411 00 number which i'm sure is plastic. Cannot locate a part no. pre-73 in PET. Admittedly I didn't look that hard.....
