Another Victim of the Los Angeles Fire

Attached is a photo of a Porsche Destroyed by the Los Angeles Station Fire, still burning up the Angeles National Forest.

The Fire was determined to be started by an arsonist, since two firefighters were killed while working the fire line. Our prayers go out to their families

I heard German Auto Dismantlers was trying to buy the chassis to sell it off as "clean". Ditto MotorMeister with respect to the engine.

And LAPD is after the tranny to sell off as another 'good used, prefect case' gearbox like the cracked broken POS they bait and switched on me last month.

Wow did the fire really come through that quickly that people did not have time to move their cars? That is scary.

Yup, they can move pretty fast. If it's windy and moving up hill, the front can move much faster than you can run. Plus your family and Fido tend to come before all your cars...

This is just sad

74 YO guy arrives back after hunting in Canada to see his home in ashes and his early 60's Porsche destroyed

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/news/ap/us_news/2009/Sep/05/l_a__man_left__piece_of_heaven___returned_to_hell. html

It was what Johnson called his "little piece of heaven." Only now, it looked like a suburb of hell.

As he walked up the driveway, he stepped over silvery rivulets of molten aluminum that had flowed like lava from his prized 1962 Porsche. Scattered about the yard were the charred skeletons of a half-dozen cars and trucks, a boat-shaped mass of melted fiberglass and the remains of a fully stocked motor home.

It is fortunate that the loss of life was kept to a minimum compared to the fires last year in Australia.
