1983 SC fader melt down -how to bypass stock fader

Hi...

I recently had a new amp installed in my 1983 SC cab and after a few top down drives I started smelling somethinthat the stock fader and supporting plastic had melted during a recent drive. When I touched the fader control while the stereo was on the fader control was to hot to touch. Ouch! Appears the new amp provided to much power for the old stock fader.

I want to by-pass the stock fader control. I have removed the melted fader switch and currently only my back speakers are working. Does anyone have a fader schematic for the 6 wires that go to the stock fader. Not sure why the back speakers are working with the fader switch removed.

I'm looking for some help / advice before I dig in

if you have been through this issue before and have any suggestions please let me know
