I have noticed for the last week that there is a difference in height between the left front tire and fender compared to the right. I measured it this morning and the drivers side measures from the ground to the bottom center of the fender is 25 3/4" and the passenger side is 26 3/4". I did this on the garage floor so it somewhat accurate. Nothing obvious I can see that might be wrong or damaged, no front end damage or body problems, nothing bent or missing,etc. When I drive the car it goes perfectly straight down the road, no pulling to one side or the other, steers fine, stops fine, etc. Is there an adjustment that is not right somewhere? Can I lower the high side? ![]() Gary |

Nothing to worry about as the front end height is easily adjustable... Just raise the front end off the ground and there is an adjustment bolt underneath your car near your torsion bars that you will either turn left or right depending if you want to raise or lower the front height !
I'm sure somebody will chime in and give you a better explanation. It will take you more time to jack up the front than to lower your car... lol

Just for kicks ...
How are the rear fender measurements ? Remember this 4 legged thing is like a table. (or if it helps you relate a bar stool) A slightly lower RR will raise the LF ... and every other combo you can then come up with ... I had mine right where I wanted it ... for ride height and fender heights . Then found that one of the spring plate bushings was "gone" disintegrated. after replacing it (and the other) my Front was, like yours, almost an inch off. My thought was just be sure to look at the big picture. ... if you didn't notice a full inch before and, now you do ... just maybe something else is going on..

As posted before, it's not unusual for the car to be "off" a bit from side to side and the front adjustment is very easy. However, allow this suggestion: Take your car into an alignment shop that knows Porsches well and have it aligned (all four wheels) and corner balanced. Any adjustments to the ride height will affect the corner balance of your car which, in turn, affects the handling and alignment. Get it right through an expert shop and any variations in height, side to side, will be accounted for.

Thanks for the input. I have noticed it for a while now, maybe last few months. I have had the car exactly one year last Friday (bought the 911 on 9/11) and had other pressing issues with it to resolve. I understand checking the other heights as well and I will, but from just looking at it, the only thing that cought my eye was the right front especially looking at it front on, the right side slopes up, or the left down. Thanks again for the input I really appreciate it.

Well, just for kicks, I did lower the right front down to match the left front and inevitably, it then pulled to the right. So I put it back to where it was. So I guess the next step is to take it in and have it done correctly. I am curious why it would have been put up so high to begin with? The rear heights were barely off from each other.....not that I know where to change it if I could. I do appreciate the input though and thanks again for the suggestions. I live in the Charleston S.C. area, can anyone suggest a good place to go?
