Talking I joined the club today...

Found a '85 factory wide body Targa near me in North Carolina. Verified car on the turbo-look.de registry. The car is rough on the inside, decent on the outside and ran really nice. I spent about 45 minutes looking at it and driving it. I took the plunge and paid what I think was a fair price..$10k.

So fire off with your "good job", "great buy" and "nice work" messages. My wife is already wondering WTH I was thinking as we already have two BMW's in a two driver household.

Looks like a good buy to me. By the time you have $20k in it, should be just about perfect! Enjoy, go slow and think carefully before you jump into all the things you want to do. Color combination is just excellent!

Good god don't do that - she'll suggest selling the car for the cash equity. $12k should the trick!

Way to go. My wife wasn't exactly happy with my first 911 purchase this summer either. Two driver household with 2 BMWs a Vette( it's for sale) plus my service truck. I absolutely love the 911 and will never sell it. I'm sure you'll find the same thing. Should have bought a 911 way sooner than I did.

I paid a lot more than that for my FTL! Nice score. Here are the obligatory "good job", "great buy" and "nice work" messages you wanted. It is nice to see a fellow brethren with factory White Gold Metallic Fuchs. I have the same on my black FTL coupe, but mine have black center caps. Look forward to seeing more photos when she's cleaned up.

Great find! I paid much more than that for mine and it is not a factory wide body... In fact, now that i'm typing this message i'm getting a little jealous.
