Anyone running a ducktail from performance prod/**********?

I am ready to buy a fglass ducktail and performance prod/********** is having a sale. They have a tail made by hannemin...sp that is cheap money with the sale.
Has anyone here bought a ducktail from them and how is the quality?
Thanks,
Ben

Hannemann fiberglass took over A.I.R. years back and haven't made a new mold since then. You'll save a couple dollars on the part then spend a ton of time with the fit and finish of the part. I'd pass.

that is not accurate. They did indeed make a new mold and the fit is much better. As with ANY glass ducks, it will need fitting. sometimes you luck out with a new delivered part

caveat- if it was sitting on a hot shelf laid down for anything longer than a day or two after molding (as installed on a car) then you can bet it is warped- no matter who makes it!

so for a different reason; Pass

So no matter who makes the tail I will need to spend hours on the fitting process?
so in that case the mfr does not matter.

I haven't done much 'glass lately so I'll take your word for it as far as the new mold is concerned. Everything else remains the same as for a hit or miss when it comes to the quality of the part.

Let us know how it goes. I talked to a guy with a new one of theirs he was selling. He said it fit great with no work.

The one I had from GT Racing on the 84 was nearly a perfect fit. Best fitting glass part I ever had were doors from Damon, Series900. Passenger fit like factory, driver needed very little work.

I have a duck from Performance. Looks great now but the body shop had to sand, layer new fg or whatever to make it fit the way it does.
