Windshield wiper blade question

OK, not trying to be a cheapskate, but I do have what will probably be construed as a cheapskate question. So be it...

It seems a lot of LAPS are selling vey few actual replacement wiper blades now, and more of the arm/blade assy's. My local O'Reilleys sells Bosch blades, but smallest narrow length is 16. Is there any reason I cannot simply cut this to fit with a very sharp object? Seems like it would be fine, but maybe I am not thinking about something.

It's Ok to trim a wiper blade to length... What could go wrong?

The most important thing is that it's the right width to fit the blade assembly.

Don't just smash it with a hammer and chisel. Using something that will cut it neatly.
A small hacksaw would be ideal.

Not a problem at all. Hell when you buy OEM BMW replacement blades they come in one long standard length and you cut them to size.

I have a windshield wiper blade question.

How do you change the damn things?

Maybe it should be easy, but I can't figure it out..so take pity on me, please and thanks.

Keep looking. Auto Zone has the right length. I think I paid $7.00 per blade/assembly last week.

I bought 1or2 from AutoZone/Advance Auto over the years. I think even SEARS has our size in stock.

Width is exactly same as my current blades, so no issues there.

I plan on using a very sharp cutting instrument.

Wasn't trying to make a mountain out of a molehill...

Wiper blades???? You mean we are supposed to drive these things in the rain..

Could not resist...I love it when people react when I tell em I drive it in the rain..I just tell em its got wipers so it must have been designed for it..
