Targa front seal dry run - gaps

Hi I have just put my new (Dans) seal in the front of the car. Took a while to remove all the glue from the old but its all gone. The seal seems to fit very well. However each corner of the targa top is still sticking up a bit.

This is demonstrated in picture one. Its actually a bit worse than it looks and I have no doubt it would let rain in.

I dont think its the seal, I am wondering if the extra bit of plastic was stuck there by a previous owner on the frame.(2nd picture)

Sorry for dark pics but its night and I dont have a working garage atm.

Ed

I think this answers my question.

The side seals on my top have been bodged at the front. I thought I was making progress with the new front seal but two steps back again.

Targa Top side seals...replacements need to be modded?

make sure your side seals are pushed back all the way, if there are any fillers or end cap/spacers, remove it the new seal may not need them.

also make sure rear end of the side seal in the crevis between the top and side window back trim, if it does not trim to size so it will easily fit in there.

the other thing is you may need to adjust the quarter window down, previous owner may have adjusted it to compensate for the wrong front seal.

post pics of the entire seal or pm me and I will try to assist.
