Hi guys,

Just wanted to post a pic and introduce myself over here in the 911 tech forum. I just picked this old girl up Friday.

While we would certainly welcome another Plotter, I am afraid he'll have to check in with the Mid-9 guys...

She's purdy

Now, on to the business stuff.

1: Any modifications done? If so what? Mileage, etc.
(here on out assumes stock 76)
2: Does it still have the 5-blade fan? How about the thermal destroyers... I mean reactors? If you answered yes to either of these, then budget those replacements right now. Might as well go for SSIs if you can afford it.
3: What about the chain tensioners - have the Carrera tensioners been installed. If not, that should be on the list
4: How about the CIS - does it have the pop-off valve? This is cheap insurance.

Finally, if it hasn't had a valve overhaul, its only a matter of time. The 2.7s were know for having the valve guides fail "early."

Enough business, got any more photos?

Indeed, with my current fleet my wallet is thinner than a credit card

The car runs suberb. I drove a lot of these to copare "apples to apples". This one has really great pull, the tranny is tight but smooth. It has 88K on the clock and I paid 7K. It has many newer parts on it including fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, SS heat exchangers, exhaust (aftermarket with a sweet but not obnoxious growl), Goodyear Eagles (205/60/15's), Corbeau seats, to name some.
My plans are simple...I have wanted a 911 since I was a kid (this one was made while I was in high school). I have worked my way up to this point. I started 10 years ago with a '73 914 and bought a second 914 for parts. Four years later I parted both of them out. I was without any Porsche until 2007 when I found the 924S in a residential garage where it had sat for almost 11 years. That one took 6 weeks to get running, but only had 39K on the clock. I have done 6 HPDE's at Watkins Glen with that car. I bought the 944 last year to make into a track car but the stock meltdown whacked me for almost 400K so I had to put HPDE's & any thoughts of racing on a side burner. This car I bought just to enjoy driving some of the south Finger Lakes area twisty's .
Will there be more 911's in my future ? You bet ! I just wanted to start somewhere.

P.S. I do all of my own maintenance.

Thanks for the welcome fellas !!
