PMO/Weber filter element options
What are the options for air filters these days? Does K and N honor their million mile warranty? The rubber edge on mine is cracking and I'm wondering what the alternatives are. Thx.
|
And meanwhile, being basically a cotton element, what are the options for K and N cleaning solutions? Searches for K and N generally degenerate into discussions as to whether or not they are better than paper elements. I've used K and N cleaning, solution, cleaner, etc...

While on this filter subject can anyone provide the K&N part numbers to suit the PMO / Webers
Have difficulty in sizing from the K&N catalogue Paul |
Does anyone clean their k an n's?

sorry to revive this thread. I have searched...
I have new PMO ITB's with rain shields and K&N filters. Does anyone make a paper filter element that is the same size and shape as the K&N? Thanks |

As far as I know, the K&N is the only one. If you maintain it carefully and oil it according to instructions, it works fine. I'm simply not losing any sleep over what micron size of particle is making it through. Life's too short.
Between ZDDP compulsives, filter wackos, Cool Collar hysterics--yeah, I've got one of those too, took it off my last airplane when I sold it--Magnacor fanatics, Swepco sissies and oh-god-do-I-have-the-wrong-sparkplugs worrywarts, we probably should just park our little dears and have them cryogenically preserved before we do terminal damage, like putting miles on them. Drive the frikkin' thing. |
Not at all obsessed with any of the things you mention... dont own a cool collar... run standard copper bosch plugs... however, I do prefer paper air filters... and if they made one Id buy it... just prefer to buy replacements and toss in the trash when dirty...

One thing I noticed on the new K & N set up vs the old K & N set up is the mounting posts are not in the same location making the lids not interchangeable and the posts are pop riveted on compared to the more robust bolted on posts in the older design. On mine one of the posts just spun around making it impossible to tighten the nut.
The old NLA version is much better. IMHO. |
