Baltic blue. This color is a blue-gray used on late 80's 911 and 944's. My 90 964 was this color and is my favorite pcar color.

Status update!
The used rsr fenders I bought were good but the drivers side was mis shaped so I had to order a new one and going to fit that fender this weekend. Rear flares are on and in primer. Wheels are coming in and are 8.5 and 11.5 bbs motorsport wheels. Tire size 245 45 17 and 315 35 17. Here are some pics!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1268516604.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1268516624.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1268516642.jpg |

Ive been looking at getting some inners/outers and need to find a sorce. Even going up in size as mine are 15" rims Looking very nice ;) Paul |
Here's pictures of my widebody conversion. I swore I would never own a Targa (much less pour a small fortune into one) but here it is. Not a long hood and not real RSR flares as the arches are round without the flattened curve at the top like a real RSR but they are all steel. They are real RSR Fuchs. All ready to paint. Final color will be Metallic Gemini Blue like my 73. Rear flares are butt welded and you cannot feel or see the joint from inside. Targa body braces inside and a Weltmeister strut brace in the front to help stiffen things up a bit.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1268810676.jpg

Gemni quite impressive! I am in the same boat as you about dumping money into a targa, but that is what I had and decided to develop that. Besides it is a street legal track car and is quite enjoyable to drive with the top off. I also autox topless but for serious track work I put on the fiberglass targa top. I have noticed serious aerodymanic drag over 140mph with the top off. Here are some more pics! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1268839630.jpg

My rims are 3 piece and I dont know how many holes (bolt holes I Assume)
I have a great guy in CA building them for me he is a racer and has helped out other Pelicans with BBS motorsport rims. He does this as a hobby not his career. Apparently the inner and outters are becoming quite rare and are difficult to source. I am lucky to have my set of wheels! Hopefully my rears will arrive on Friday and I can mount my tires. |

More progress my rear wheels showed up and really fill the wheel wells.
BBS motorsport! Going to have sealer over primer this weekend.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1269558038.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1269558056.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1269558073.jpg |

Schweet Ben! Digin those R tailights
|
Now THAT is sweet-looking,..gonna' easily be the best Targa specimen on this NG, for damned sure...
Great work. Doyle |
The lights look good placed in the rear, but mounting and wiring will be the trick.
I guess I did not need a reverse light anyway......................... |
I am seeing some color now. I am using a blue tinted sealer over the primer. I almost want the whole car in the tinted sealer.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1270489427.jpg

Nice work guys.

I just realized my roller wheels don't roll. Rear 993 wheels hit the shock towers on a 911 sc I sold My fuchs and am waiting for my bbs motorsports for the front to arrive so I can pull the car out of the garage for some pics.
I plan to seal the whole car and put it back together to make it to a track day on the 21st this month. Then I can worry about the details and get her painted properly. That blue tinted sealer looks like gulf blue. Hmmmm |
|
Great work! Getting close!
|
I wish I could roll it out of the garage! The 993 offset 9" wheels wont let it roll but they look better than jack stands. My BBS for the front show up on the 16th then I will be able to roll it around. I hope to have it on the track on the 21st.
