Looking real nice... I am hoping to spray some color this weekend. I have a goal of driving mine on my Birthday, July 12th... it will be tight but I think I can make it.

I think after seeing yours it convinced me to go with a duck tail.... not really sure since I went with the 964 look thoughhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1276043681.jpg

benp911 06-12-2010 07:21 AM

I will definitely roll it out and take some outside pics with my camera instead of my phone. I need to install the gas door too and need to find a way to install a catch for the gas door since the glass fenders does not have one.

tig 06-12-2010 07:51 AM

Fantastic work. Love the color.

benp911 06-12-2010 12:29 PM

Wait till i can roll it out in the sun and wash it then the color will be amazing!

benp911 06-25-2010 03:19 PM

I put my catch back on the g/fender.
In the same place, a little bit fiddly........try not to shut it down tight 1st time
coz you wont be able to open it again.
Unless you get it right 1st time......an hour of messing with it and 3 years later still works fine

The drive to the shop was fun I had not driven the car on public roads since October of last year, but I am making sure everything is secured correctly. I have my mechanic checking everything on the car and wiring the headlights. My mechanic is a perfectionist so he is alligning the front end for pannel fit and then I can get the car back and clean it and take some beauty shots.

benp911 08-06-2010 02:20 PM

light at the end of the tunnel!! Pun intended
The lighs work and just need a couple odds and ends to get moving.
A full photo shoot will be shown then!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1281133198.jpg

Very nice...

benp911 08-10-2010 02:36 PM

Just got a call from the shop today. Just some basic service needed and I will be back on the road!

DanS911 08-10-2010 03:43 PM

Wow Baltic Blue..........hum......My '76 targa has morphed in a similar direction. Turbo fenders, Duck Tail and now with IROC bumpers F/R and a F/G hood it is crying out for paint.
Started out as Minerva Blue but....where did you get the paint!

benp911 08-11-2010 08:48 AM

I just searched for the baltic blue paint code and had a local automotive paint supplier mix a can. About $250 for just a can of paint with enough to do the entire car.

benp911 08-11-2010 08:52 AM

I need to do something about my exhaust. It needs to come straight out instead of at that angle.

benp911 08-21-2010 08:20 AM

car is looking great, time to get an tripod and find a nice place to take some quality pics!......

benp911 08-21-2010 09:53 AM

so far you are seing my blackberry camera pics!
Don't worry I have some plans for some quality pics with a real camera.

DanS911 08-21-2010 11:36 AM

Lookin good! Where are the REAL pictures?!! I can't wait to see the paint in a quality photo or two.
Did you do anything with the exhaust?
I have had 3 different ones on mine, including a straight through set up that we home built that made an X across the back..........WAY too loud and this is a track only car!

benp911 08-21-2010 12:00 PM

Exhaust is a Monty which I have not touched yet but I need the pipes to be straight instead angled. Here are two pics taken with a real camera :)http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1282420810.jpg

i love the look of your car!...... id really like to see an car like yours but w/ 964 bumpers.... maybe ill have to start saving up to give my car an new look its paint is falling off any how.

juicersr 08-21-2010 04:02 PM

Awesome Ben, great job bro! Really came out nicely and glad u are finally getting to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Tim Boyer 08-21-2010 05:25 PM

HI,
This is my favorite post to date!! You see, I am doing the same thing with a '70 E and was beginning to think that I was nuts because I was not able to find other examples from which to draw inspiration. I have found it.
Right now, my car is in enough pieces that a picture wouldn't help to much. However, once I have it mocked up, I will be sure to post some pictures.
If anyone wants to stay in touch, my e-mail address is ylboyer@rcn.com
Thanks,
tim

I had a great weekend driving the car started by my shakedown run at the track on Friday. I am amazed at the # of compliments I have been getting with it at stoplights etc.. My most common question is (what year is it)? I dont know anymore!! 73 style body on a 78 targa with an 89 motor. Yes a real photoshoot will follow.
