Fun post - now I am thinking that I need a "work" porsche.

slow&rusty 10-21-2009 08:02 PM

Value of your 928 just doubled...

Ken911 10-21-2009 08:37 PM

Finally something useful for a 928 to do lol. one of the local pca guys here bought a 928 for 9500.00 spent several years and 30,000.00 restoring it then sold it for.................9,500.00 I was so glad I had decided on a 911 when he told me that.

arrivederci 10-21-2009 08:37 PM

Wow, that was exactly what I've been looking for. I'm finally convinced that the 928 is better than the 911.

nameisbauer 10-21-2009 08:48 PM

I can to the same thing in my 911. With a periscope.

Confused…was your car “probably capable of 170 mph” before or after the Whirlpool mod?

That would be after, at those speeds, you need the downforce of the raised trunklid.... :D:D

berettafan 10-21-2009 09:11 PM

Wouldn't kick it outta my garage!

(Unless for some reason the 911 couldn't fit in as well)

thinkfloyd14 10-21-2009 09:57 PM

fat chicks and washing machines make my 911 scrape

relayswitcher 10-21-2009 10:49 PM

I guess you haven't seen my thread on the Theory of: If you own a Porsche you most likely own a pick up truck.

Here ya go.......

the washing machine is obstructing the view of the banjo

bart1 10-22-2009 07:37 AM

Yup, 944s and 968s are also quite practical. When I order new tires for the 993, I take them to the shop the day before in the 968. Yes, I know I could ship them straight to the shop.

Kemo 10-22-2009 07:42 AM

would a 928 make a good tow vehicle?

myamoto1 10-22-2009 07:46 AM

My FIL hauled a webber bbq to the Emory campout in the back of his 996TT. He also has a 928, so I can't imagine what has or will be hauled in that thing.

whiteSC59 10-22-2009 07:59 AM

Brilliant!! absolutely brilliant, but Id try and small honda generator (quiet) and some type of water storage to get the weight lower in the car. then plug the washer into generator, plumb the water lines and wellah!! mobile porshe laundry mat. im also thinking either clothes line from antanae or rig some kind of dryer on engine or exhaust heat. feel free to use any or all of this info. those germans sure can build a quality laundry and didnt even know it...

I wonder if Normy got his neighbour to help him unload it and take it in the house

Actuallly Norm has a really nice 928. I've always liked the looks of the 928 and think they are a great touring Porsche. Hey, and that V8 is no slouch.

kneedragger302 10-22-2009 11:48 AM

You better get some "C" class truck plates for that thing before you get a ticket.
