You can haul a washer, but can you haul these beauties?

Cool Plate Norm, but you should think about getting this if you are going to keep working on the house..
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1256249536.jpg I once picked up a Huge bird cage for our old African Grey, with my 911, of course I had a Yakama bike rack on the roof & just strapped that huge stand up cage on that.. Yes, I got lots of funny looks when I did that...:D |

I had a friend over to do a clutch adjustment on his car once. My floor jack wouldn't get the car high enough to get on the stands, needed to supplement it somehow. We jumped in my targa, raided the trash pile of a nearby construction site, and grabbed an old 2x4, about 6 feet long, to cut up and stack on the jack head (it really was trash, I promise!). Must have looked ridiculous, driving with a ratty 2x4 sticking out of the top of the car.
Norm, that's a great looking 928, glad to see you getting your money's worth out of it! |

The one and only German El Camino...

There should be a fine involved for using such a fine automobile to do that .

Hauled 6 square of shingles and roofing felt home in my old Saturn SL. The car handled way more squirrely than my SWB 911.

here is a full drums set in my car. 600 mile trip to nashville and back. i had the stands in the front.
the handling was a little off through the mountains. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1256302529.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1256302543.jpg |

Hey Norm.
Is this the 928 that I helped you put springs and control arm bushing in a couple month ago. Seems like a car I remember..... -Adam |
I had a '82 928 and it was a great car. I went to the local home inprovement center once a had the boys put about 5 bags of cement mix in the back. They were real reluctant but I told this was a car and that was its' trunk. Another time I won a 9 ft. tall artificial Christmas tree at a company party. No problem, stuck it in the back and drove about 20 miles home with the heater on full blast (Canadian winter). Two days later I did the same thing to drop it off at the local childrens hospital. I used to call it the "Porchillac".

kewl - there's a guy in our region that has a full-size heated hot tub in his 928 hatch.
we make him drain it for DE's.....but then, it's not an S2 with all the HD suspension pieces... Bill K |
I guess you have to haul the appliance with your Porsche because you don't have another car?
Are you saying your car is better because it can carry more stuff?!?! By that logic, the Cayenne is by far the best Porsche because of its 63 cu. ft cargo capacity. (BTW, the Cayenne turbo does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and has a 171 mph top speed). I think those of us with 911's understand that the sports car is for hauling a**, the truck/suv/etc. is for hauling stuff. In my case, the cargo hauler is a h/b turbo Saab with 50 cu. ft of cargo space with the hatch closed. At various times, I've hauled a kitchen set, a dishwasher, and a wall oven, in the back of that car. |
911 cargo capacity
No problem carrying LOTS of stuff with a 911.
You see, they've invented these high-tech things called "roof racks". Those of you interested in carrying a dishwasher with your 928's may want to look into a set so you don't have to mess up your interior. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1256312045.jpg |

Thats why I have a truck, nuff said :)

I have to say I do like the practicality of my 924S. I can cram six guitars, in cases, and an amplifier in it and still have some room left over. NOt happening in my 911 for sure.
