Porsche Crest X-Mass must be coming...

Well, if the content is as good as the packaging, I know what I'll be doing on the 26th (boxing day)...

I know that you meant to write John Starkey.

Porsche Crest First step was easy...

Just finished looking at over 2,228 photos/illustrations.

Now I just have to read the 2,000 pages...

With the Babe coming out of hibernation in 100 days, 20 pages a day will do it.

P.S. Less than 20 in the Hab's book

Well, really, one wouldn't likely want to read more than 20 pages about the Canadiens.

Thanks for the thread Grady. I ordered the Excellence Was Expected from our host because of it. Didn't know the Porsches spent time in prison after WWII, (I'm sure there will be a million other things I didn't know come up).

Porsche Crest

I got the new, 3rd edition of Excellence was Expected for Christmas. Very impressive! One of its editions is simply required reading for all serious Porsche enthusiasts.

Also have also recently acquired the little Factory Spec & Tech book for my '83 SC ... other books I found helpful when I was in the process of buying a 911 were:

Streather's [I]911SC "Super Carrera" Essential Companion/I]
Zimmerman's The Used 911 Story
Leffingwell's 911 Buyer's Guide
Haab's 911 Authenticity Series

There are minor inconsistencies across all of these (Excellence was Expected excepted), but they were quite useful in helping to decide which 911 was right for me.

I also purchased Excellence Was Expected primarily because of this thread. It's quite the volume... Don't put it on a weak bookshelf, that's for sure. I don't have any plans for the next week, so I should be able to put a dent in it, at least.
