Fikse offset numbers ???
Hey guys,
Does anybody know how or where to find the offset reference on a Fikse wheel ? The numbers on the wheels are : F116A11 2199 6744 F116A11 1399 6338 I'm guessing the first digits in the second series of numbers would indicate the offset, can anybody confirm this please ??? Thank you ! Phil

Those are Fikse's serial numbers. They will tell you the offsets if you ask.

This is the reason why i am asking on this Forum...
There is no reply at Fikse and i was hoping somebody more familiar with Fikse wheels would be able to shine some light on those numbers. I have my eye on a used set that i want to install on my 89 Coupe and the seller is unsure about the offset. It is a costly mistake if they do not fit properly... lol Phil

I don't think those manufacturing numbers will relate to the size or offsets. I just looked at the serial numbers for my Fikse wheels and there's no relation whatsoever. Sorry. I think you're going to have to measure them.
Best thing you can do is find out what the seller had them on. If they were run on any 911 SC or Carrera from 78 to 89, they should fit your car too. The common Fikse offsets for our cars in 17" was et30 or 32 front and et 15 or 19 rear. But it depends on whether the fronts are 17x7.5 or 8.

Paul,
I 'm using Fikse FM10's this year due to a brake upgrade, they are 7.5 and 9.0 inches wide and i will go in the garage tomorrow morning, after the F1 race... and measure the backspacing for you. I'm using 1/2 inch spacers in the front but that is most likely due to the modified hubs i had to install for my 996TT brakes. My car is a narrow bodied 89 Carrera Coupe.I have 225/45/17 and 255/40 /17 Dunlop DZ1tires on presently and i could have easily went with 235's and 265's ... Cheers ! phil

you have no issues with rubbing? I have 205/55 and 225/50 on 16 inch fuchs. I had to roll the fenders to keep them from rubbing

Paul,
My previous setup was with 8 inch 951 offset Fuchs with 225/50 16's in the front and 9 inch Fuchs with 245/45/16 inch Toyo T1R's in the rear. No issues whatsoever with the rear but i did slightly roll the front fender lips with a baseball bat before i got the 951 offset Fuchs as i had some rubbing with the stock 7 inch wheels ... With my Fikses i'm using 1/2 spacers in the front and i have no rubbing issues,i could run without spacers but the inside of the spokes on my wheels are a little too close to the calipers, I have 1/4 and 3/8 spacers spacers that i will play with after i do a final lowering and corner balance ... Will get you the info tomorrow ! Cheers ! Phil

Not quite. Fikse was purchased by Kodiak several months ago. Fikse is and will continue as a separate line, and they just hired a new sales director for Fikse, a guy previously with Kinesis.

Paul,
Here you go,i got some numbers for you ... 1- Rear 9 inch 17" Fikse, backspacing 6 inches 2- Rear 9 inch 16" Fuchs, backspacing 5 1/2 inches , ET15 3- Front 7.5 inch 17" Fikse, backspacing 6 inches 4- Front 8 inch,951 offset 16" Fuchs, backspacing 5 1/4 inches , ET23 So it seems like my Fikses have the same ET,there is a formula for converting backspacing to ET somewhere in these forums, but at least this gives you a better idea ! thanks a million,
so the fikse wheels locate the tire a bit more inboard than the fuchs if I am reading that right. so it allows wider tires for the same wheel well. are there any issues of rubbing against the inner fender well or rear oil lines?

Paul,
Always happy to help ![]() No rubbing issues whatsoever, front or rear and like i mentioned earlier i could have went with 235/45/17 and 265/40/17 tires.Dunlop makes those matching sizes in their Direzza DZ1 Star Spec tire, which i think highly of so far ! As far as the wheels being located more inboard, that's a bonus as it's easier to space them out than having to bring them in ... lol Cheers ! Phil

when I went to lime rock for my first DE day, my instructor was running fikse wheels and the dunlops as well. his car was similar to mine with maybe stiffer dampers the only difference besides the wheels and tyres. he took me for a ride and you could really feel the difference in the way he could lean on the tires. of course I have much harder tires in comparison and I need to learn a lot more about driving, but it was such a huge difference in feel

The Fikse's I've seen on a 911 w/ SC/Carrera flares are
8x17 ET31.3 9x17 ET18.6 these fit well in front you can use 8 ET25-31 fairly comfortably w/ 225 -245 tires, the 235 & 245 tires will need a lot of work to clear the fender lips at lower ride heights. ET25 sticks more out board than ET31 in back the 9s are a comfortable fir w/ 255 -275 tires. As w/ the front the wider tires get harder to fit the lower the car. and you will sometimes need to mod lips & trailing arm bolts and move oil lines I used 8 235/45 x17 on 8 ET25 and 275/40 x17 on 9.5 ET19 just my opinon but 8 ET30 w/ 235/35x18 & 9 ET18 w/ 265/35 x18 would be a great combo and easier to deal w/ than the setup I had because the tires are shorter

Bill,
One question regarding the ET on my 7.5 and 9 inch Fikses. Since the inner barrel on both wheels is the same with a backspacing of 6 inches would that mean that they are both ET 18.6 ? My front wheels are spaced out 1/2 inch in order to clear my calipers and Steve Timmins modified hubs... The only difference is the outer lips which are 1.5 for the fronts and 3.0 inches for the rear ! Regards ! Phil
