Brake switch failure
Has anyone seen this. About three years ago I put a master cylinder on a 87 Carrera. It came with two new brake switches.
Today my brake lights did not work. I traced the failure to both brake switches. Three years seems like a short time for these switches to fail. I'm pretty sure I got the brake master from SSF a reputable supplier.

Three years is actually pretty good. These switches are notorious for premature failure due to arcing. There are some threads that show the failure mode and a couple of workarounds.

just don't replace them with the "URO" brand. they last a few months if you're lucky.

Is ordering by Porsche part number from SSF a good way to go?

OldTee - look into getting a BLS relay for you car. It'll make sure this is your last replacement.
