What happens to CIS when O2 relay removed?
My 83SC started rough and acted like it was missing yesterday. i had been on a month long trip. drove it a couple of blocks to see if it would clear up,but it started to buck violently so i turned back for the house, but remembered it did this the last time i had a bad relay. I reached under the pass seat and unplugged the relay and Viola, smoothed right out.Ran fine the rest of the day. I've read here that it goes lean, and read that it goes rich. Whats the real poop?
So, what happens when the relay is removed. Should i park it until the new one gets here from our host?

when your relay craps out, the whole system is not working, including the frequency valve which gets a 90 percent duty cycle when the 35 degree throttle switch is passed. With it inop you are in a dangerous lean situation at wot.

If it runs better with the relay removed, you have a different problem. Replace the relay and find out what the system is doing with a dwelll meter, otherwise you are just guessing.

The pin with the green /white wire. All the specs can be found here by searching for lambda dwell meter. You should see a steady needle at the default setting during warm up and a fluctuating needle when it goes into closed loop. When you make mixture adjustments, you will see the needle range shift as the system trys to bring the closed loop mixture back to stoich.
