I'd rather see a Porsche get a chevy engine stuffed in it then see it scrapped. At least it will live.

Hope you're happy. I invested a couple hours worth of Saturday Morning on this thread. Now I'm going to work on the car.

I used a four bolt main 1976 truck engine. I just like to built everything, buying a built engine just does not suit my personality.
I have personaly experiance problems with the Elebrock carb in the corners, I think there are places that can help fix this but the Holley worked fine with minor tuning. As an update still waiting on parts to get the yellow beast back together. Need clutch linkage for the new turbo trans. Supplier did not include with trans. Mount either. Leave for the Talladaga Drivers ed on Fri. I have to get cooking. Will let you all know how the new bars and trans. work out. |

Hey feelyx with the 912!
That short wheelbase 912 could be a real auto X powerhouse with a latemodel hot rod VW engine! Somebody on an auto X topic told about a 914 with a 297 h.p. VW motor. Could that be a reasonable conversion and still maintain that real tossable attitude? I a magazine with a VW engined VW turning 9 second quarters! NO Blow! Chevy V-8s have been highly developed, but for an old swb 912 that already has a VW engine? Different horses for different courses. Dan |

I heard this car kicked butt at CMP last weekend and people who saw the car reported it was very well done indeed.
