First Engine & Tranny Drop!

Hello,

First of all thank you to all who helped me prepare for this! The engine and Tyranny drop went great! All I have to do is raise up the car more and their free! I'm going to do that tomorrow....I'm pooped. Once i get them clear, I'll separate the tyranny from the engine and begin to dismantle the engine in preparation for replacing broken head stud bolts...among alot of other stuff. Just wanted to let everyone know I got er out!!!!!!!

nice work. if u have trouble getting that thing high enough try removing the panel on the side by the bumper. i was able to sqeeze mine out through there

Hi, Thanks for the info! I tried to get the lower portion of the bumper off but the screws wont budge...I'll try to get it higher but if I were able to remove those screws it would make life alot easier......Will tackle it tomorrow.

I'd remove the rubber bumpers, and then take whatever time is necessary to remove the screws that hold on the valence. Seems safer then jacking the car up as high as it would need to go to clear all that....

I'll remove the bumpers and get the lower portion of the bumper off.....somehow get those screws off. Thanks for the advise.

I would recommend removing the whole bumper.
It gives you at least 8 more inches.

To do that you have to remove:
- 2 screws holding the rubber strips
(if those are stuck an impact driver might help)
- 4 screws for the license plate lights
- 4 small nuts on the rubber bellows
- 4 nuts holding the bumper.

voila! the whole thing falls on your feet.

(I tied some wire to the license plate wire and threaded it through
the hole in the rubber bumper. Makes reassembly a lot easier.)

No need to bother with removing rear valence or bumper. Just put some wood blocks under your jack stands to raise the car up. Plenty of room here using two layers of 2 x 10's.

Thanks for the info and pics it helps me out alot! I think ill try to raise the car a little higher first. If that doesn't work then off with the bumper. Hope to have time this afternoon.
