Looking for video where the driver lost it in a ditch at the end.
I'm going from memory of a few years back of a video that was posted here.
It was rally footage from inside the car w/sound, on back roads. The tranny had a whine as I recall and the driver lost in the ditch at the end. Anybody have it ? Thanks ![]() Last edited by Bob's Flat-Six; 06-04-2009 at 02:03 PM.. |

Yes I have it (if it is the one with the white 911 rally car you are after), but it is on my hard drive. How do I get it to you?

Actually on a norwegian ship on the frigg field right now, cutting down some old platform fundament on the seabed. 63 people sharing 2x128kbit connection. no youtube for me.
Sorry for OT Robert - my SC in a garage with 4 broken head studs, awaiting to be dismantled. |

Bob, here's another one you'll probably like. In car footage of a GT3 in a similar rally to the other one you liked so much.

It's a little painful to watch the beating these cars take on the rally stages.

Sorry for the stupid question:
What is the light on the dashboard in that GT3 vid? Shift light? Telephone? What?

By the way, did you notice the driver waving to the fans at the side of the road a couple of times. Jeez man, I don't think I'd even see them, let alone wave at them. Cool cucumber, that guy. Last edited by 450knotOffice; 06-04-2009 at 09:09 PM.. |

Interesting video but it never ceases to amaze me when events such as this are run in a country other than USA. Spectators line the race route only inches away from the race cars. Cars parked on the outside of turns ensuring certain injury, death or substantial damage to their cars if and when a driver looses it in a turn.
Here in the good ole USA, we sit behind barriers and aren't allowed near the race course. I guess law suits where you intentionally place yourself in harms way don't cut the mustard in foreign countries. Here, even after signing a waiver of liability, liberal minded juries will award you money for your stupidity

+1 all you need is the sound of the flat six...especially air cooled and some decent footage and a driver that has alot of ability and no fear. It doesn't even have to be that good of footage as shown in the first video of Gilles Nantet... He pushes his 930 to it's limits and beyond on bad wet roads... a testiment to how well 911's stick. |

old rally footage is like crack to me. just can't get enough!
my personal collection only consists of a dvr'd edition of Legends of Motorsport showing the 1,000 Lakes Rally from '68 or so. gd awesome stuff.
