75mm/PI=23-24mm?

if you can measure circumference..can't you simply measure the diameter? sorry, i am arse deep into a huge spreadsheet, not seeing or thinking straight.

Measure. A 23mm bar is 23mm in diameter.

If you don't have any calipers and only a tape measure or ruler, take 2 objects (sticks) and place them either side of the bar and then measure the distance between the 2 with your ruler - make sure objects are parallel.

torsion bar

Thank you all for your help

I guess it time to start looking for stiffer T bars.

I appreciate the help as I did not know that it was based on he diameter.

Am I correct in assuming from my reading that

a 27/28 rear

and 22 front

would be a good all round street plus DE combination
The car is 85 sunroof carrera

AC delete
CTR fiber glass bumpers Bilstiens all round

Thanks all Chris

I think you are right Bill

I guess I will just lower it to Euro and start saving for stiffer bars

Lynn,

If you have it apart it is a good idea to freshen the bushings and do what you want to as the cost of alignment and reseting the corner balance can be expensive.

22/29 is a good sport combo for an 85 w HD/HD or HD ft/Sport shocks rear. New shocks lift the car.

Solid torsion bars are not very expensive. Something like $600. Shocks about the same. Plus bushings and about $1000 for a good corner balance, alignment, and fine tuning of the ride height.
