Non Flashing indicators and the rest.....

The rotten weather here in Ireland is playing havoc with my poor '74 911 which is unfortunately sitting outside...

The auxilliary heater (new) has stopped working, and now the indicators have stopped flashing.... as well as the fuse for the LHS parking lights popping constantly...

Is there a flasher unit located somewhere, and could this be the problem...?

Although a huge 911 enthusiast... I am not even slightly teckkie minded, so forgive the thicko questions, but I do love my car, and would bring it indoors with a hot water bottle and a teddy bear if my wife allowed it, but oddly she won't...

Any advice appreciated!

Happy New Year!!!

Sounds like a lot of water is getting in the wiring and the lamp holders causing havic. Not much you can do but try to remove the water and then try to find the problem. Most of the time they go away when dry.

+1, it sounds as if the damp climate is reeking havoc on some of your systems. I would unhook the battery and clean up the contacts on the fuse box and fuses first. Maybe even clean up some of the main grounding points. If you still have issues, move towards cleaning up the contacts and grounds at the problem area, i.e., the housing for your blinkers.

clean and add a very small dab of di-electric grease before reassembling. It should help protect against the elements.

Girlfriend asked, "What if you had a car that didn't need you?"

Still have the car.

Thanks for that...
It's trying to get an opportunity in the rotten weather
to get at the car...

She is currently 'resting' under a car cover until further notice....

Soon, the sun will come out and you wil dry out and be driving the back roads with the wind in your hair and a smile on your face. 3 days later it will start to rain and everything will start to short out again... This is why Irish Whiskey was invented!

Have a great new year!
