Odd spark plug wrench?
I recently picked up what I thought to be a normal factory type 911 spark plug socket (marked "KLEIN 21," with spring), but after I got home I noticed that the insert in the top was not the typical allen 6 point (like all my searches yielded), but a multi-point "star" type insert. The one in my 70's 911 kit has a normal 6 point Allen insert.
I thought it might be out of an early 911 tool kit, but the spring threw me off - I thought they only came on later sockets. I thought someone may be able to answer this quickly (without a photo), or I'll run to the garage and post a picture of it if it turns out to be odd. Thanks |

The "star" head at the bottom of the picture goes on the spark plug, twisting it right or left with the knurled knob eather installs or removes the spark plug......
Oh another picture! That's a 12-point socket or a "triple square". Well there must be a tool that comes in the tool kit that fits on it, might be from a newer (83-) 911?

I think you need one of these to make it work

Oh sure bring out the big Snap-on guns! That's about $150.00 to change a plug! I have one also but not the same swivel joint on the socket, that is snap-on part?

Sorry JB, could not resist. Yes, the wobble extension is a Snap On part, FSXK320A.
Spark plugs are easy on 911s.
