911sc wiring to starter motor...i lost my notes!
does anyone know the how the wiring is done on a stock bosch starter on my 78SC?
specifically, which is the ground and which is the hot? i think the ground is the wire towards the quarter and the red is on the big bolt closest to the transmission? thanks

The black wire of the chassis is the battery.
The red from the engine and the black from the battery go together on the 8mm stud of the bendix. The solid yellow goes to the top slip on connection The yellow/blue stripe goes to the lower slip on connector Bruce. |

thanks Bruce!
i just have this aversion to clamping a RED wire and a BLACK wire together. intuitively, thats "ground to hot". thanks again, you saved the night. putting engine back in after 1st engine drop ![]() so far so good.

You ll do good. What I do is do all electrics, clutch, all fuel, then all oil. I put it together that way, but I still forget the starter at times

This is how my 78 is set-up but I've added a relay... It's worth doing so save your ignition switch.
The thick cable going to the left goes to the relay. ![]()
