Front Strut Nut with slider seal??

I just picked up a set of Boge Front outer housings for my 71 Targa and upon removal of the original Boge housings I found that the Large Nut that holds the strut inserts in was different. The ones removed from the originals have a rubber inner seal that acts as a slider for the strut insert, and the newer ones I purchased does not have the rubber inner slider.

Which should I use, and does it really make a difference.. as I noticed this After installation. I kept the nuts(without seal) that came on the strut housings I purchased and installed.

Thanks
