carpet installation question - what order?

OK, some of this is obvious, but is there a best practice as to the order in which carpet is installed in our lovely cars?

Shane, you must have the "kit", and I hope the old one is still in there. I tool one or two peices off at a time and replaced them as i went along then after it was prefitted, I started to glue it down. Many small pieces.
BTW the hood looks pretty good!

I'm doing the same in 2 days. No carpet in there, but a box full of pieces to figure out. I will follow your lead! Lol

Thanks! I still need to decide on the rear portions of mine. I have a cab and bought a kit for a coupe. My original idea was to do something different in the back with leather covered sides and rear (replacing what is normally carpeted in a cabriolet). If not, I will have to buy the separate pieces, or some builk carpeting (mine is US plush) and cut to fit. If I go leather, I need to source some leather.

Question

I have a cab too and a carpet kit in the garage waiting for installation.
Does the top need to come off at the back of the car to install the carpet?
How much glue does it take to do the full job? I was told it would cost around $150.00 in 3M product. Is this about right?

I just did my entire interior and only used 3/4 (three quarters) of a spray bottle of 3M interior adhesive.
