Question Replacing protective brackets on 85 Carrera

Has anyone replaced the Protective brackets on the front control arms of a 84 - 86Carrera? Is there any movement of the control arm itself that you must prepare for when bracket is removed or is it pretty straight forward off and on of the bracket? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. ( New 85 Carrera owner)

If you're talking about the forward most covers with the tow hook holes, they just unbolt with no tension.

You will be asked to post photos of your car .

Welcome to the board you cannot imagine how valuable this board can be and is.

kodioneill,
Yes, the bracket with the tow hook holes. Thanks for the advice. I will post a pic of my car soon. You are right, this board is a excellent source for information. My wife cannot understand why I am up so late at night just reading it. I know how sad that sounds!!!
Thanks again,
