Angry '71 2.2 Distributor Problem

Are there any aftermarket distributors for a 2.2l to eliminate the points? My distrib. cam shaft moves up 5mm if I pull it, and I am having engine shutdowns because of erratic point operation.
Or , is rebuilding the dist. something I can easily do?

It sounds as if your snap-ring under the felt plug wasn't replaced, or maybe it came loose. It should be an easy fix to the 5 mm play problem.
