1984 clutch problem help
Got a clutch problem I think. I have replaced the complete clutch assembly, new clutch cable and rebuilt the trans about 3K miles ago. The peddle goes to the floor and release the plate ok it’s when I start to release the peddle it seem to stuck and release a little then stick and release. I did not replace the helper spring, could this be the problem? Any other thoughts?
Thanks Rick |

If you are feeling a "delay" when you release the pedal, it is just an adjustment issue. I had mine adjusted too loose, so when I released the clutch, I had to "help" the pedal to return fully, by putting my foot behind the pedal and pulling it back up.
Took me all of 10 minutes to adjust the cable. Just get under the car and adjust the locknuts where the cable mounts to the trans to take up the slack.
