Best brake manufacturers

So finally pulled my ’85 Carrera out after couple of years in storage. Took it over to Terry of Lawell Motorsports in Houston for a general look over prior to hitting the road and some track events. To no one’s surprise, all four calipers are frozen. Can’t tell if rotors are warped and thinking of replacing anyway.

So here we are…. Lots of choices for new brakes. Who/What is your favorite?

(Will tally the results of everyone’s input and post summary for future ref.)

Calipers:
ATE – new OEM approx $190 each
A1 Cardone – reman ATE cores approx $60 each
Others????

Pads:
BHP Performance
Pagid Racing
Hawk Performance
Ate Original
Ate PremiumOne
OEM Porsche
Others????

Semi-metallic or ceramic?
Which product line?

Rotors:
Zimmermann
Ate Original
Ate PremiumOne
Sebro
Centric/Power Slot
OEM Porsche
Others????

Cross-drilled, dimple-driller, slotted or regular?
Which product line?

Brake lines:
G-Stop 4 Line Stainless Steel kit
OEM rubber lines
Others???

Depends on what you need for your brakes to do.

Nothing wrong with using a reman caliper. Save yourself some $ and get remans.

Pads are like motor oil. Everybody has a favorite. I like OEM Mintex from Pelican for street (because they're crazy cheap) or Porterfield R4S. For track I like Performance Friction PF97

Rotors are easy. You can't beat the OEM Zimmerman for quality and durability. Ate are good too. No reason to waste your money on slotted, dimpled, cross-drilled, cryo. etc. etc. The plain jane flat-faced rotors are completely up to the task of street car use on the track.

OEM Ate rubber lines work perfectly on the track. Rock hard pedal all the time and perfect fitment. I've used them for years on my car.

HPS pads with Sebro cross drilled rotors

Mostly street with light track. Good balance for reasonable price.

Have been recommended Hawk HPS pads with Sebro cross drilled rotors. Any thoughts?
