Input on Shop>quality of work
I hoping to get some direct input on a shop in Sonoma, CA. Air Cooled Porsche, who sells on Ebay and Pelican I'm looking at a rebuild engine from him. As we all know we have quality shops and shops that have issue's. I weighting the purchase of a rebuild 3.0 short stroke motor from him vs a 3.6 to upgrade my 83sc>RS Clone. Any input onf Air Cooled Porsche would be helpful.

don't do it!
Really suggest you do a bigtime search on this guy! If it's the same guy that did my engine, then you better run! My project was stalled for more than a year with stupid ASS excuses, even the classic "my wife has cancer". excuse. When I finally received the engine, it leaked oil everywhere, had mis matched worn out parts and was a general piece of *****. Made no oil pressure! He told me, "don't worry about it" - "early 911's don't make good oil pressure". My written workorder has on it that he was to do an oil bypass modification, when I split the case, not only was the OBM ( That I Paid For ) not done & the Oil seal at the oil pump was left out.......= no FU**in oil pressure!!!! PM ME we'll talk. I had to start completly over.
