There's an aftermarket pedal car wheel company that peddles metal petal pedals.

And metal petal wheels of course.

Having to choose between Fuchs and the turbo twists I would chose the Fuchs. Think they are classic!

Having said that and if you can find these anymore, I loooooove my wheels.....

Hi Mark,
No, you didn't but I think the postage to Mandurah, Western Australia may prove to be a little excessive !

Would love to hand deliver them :D Want me to check? Have to go to FedEx tomorrow anyway.

FUCHS

and that comes from someone who has cups , yours looks right, it is the classic look

guards red
tail
chin
and FUCHS

just has an air of class about it, like you could roll up on a RR and ask for the Grey Popon

Which brings up the topic of unsprung weight, a surprisingly small increase of which can result in a profound difference in steering feel and handling (the lighter the car, the more pronounced).

I once had a modified '72 240/280 turbo motored Z and put 17" ARE wheels on it with 50 series tires. It cornered as if on rails but rode too hard to suit me for a street car. So I put 55 series tires on it.

You might not think that there's not all that much weight difference, but the steering feel and handling went from "OMG! I just ran over a dime!" and "I'm too skeered to corner this thing any faster cause it's gonna break loose all at once and kill my ass!" to "I just ran over a brick you say?" and "Hey, throttle steerin' below 85 mph is fun!"

For me, weight and strength come before looks and I'm guessing the turbo twists (whose looks don't appeal to me anyway) are quite a bit heavier than Fuchs (ask me if I'd even consider putting sand cast Rota FOX look alike dumb bells on for looks. :)).

Great answer!

I was actually thinking of that wheel when I answered. That's a RONAL wheel, there's a Pink New Beetle that drives around Cherry Creek that has those exact wheels.

I hear they tend to wilt when the brakes get hot.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your kind offer but I'll stick with the two sets I have (I have to confess that to my eye the 17" Fuchs style don't look "right" on the SC/Carrera)
I actually prefer the high profile tyre/modest rim diameter look of the original setup.
On my SC Targa I actually had fairly high profile (can't remember what they were) tyres on a set of 15" cookie cutters with black centres/polished rims, and I thought they looked best of all.
I know- there's no accounting for taste !

Fuchs are right for that car (although I also have BBS-style cross-spokes for mine that are nice in a classic style). The twists are just wrong.

No worries Phil. That's why there are all sorts of options, different strokes as us colonists say!
